BREAKERS
Breakers
Breaker feeders are widely used in the mining and quarrying industry. Indeed, they mainly perform three functions:
- Fragment the blocks and therefore reduce them to a particle size compatible with the width of the belts.
- Allow spillage at maximum speed of the ore from the upstream service, and thus its temporary storage.
- Stretch the resulting pile to feed the downstream belt conveyors at a regular rate.
Different types of breakers
LA STEPHANOISE is today able to offer its customers 3 models of breaker feeders:
- STARWHEEL BREAKER – Used for soft and non-abrasive ores.
Crushed ores hardness: 800 bars
Product: Lignite coal, limestone…
Inlet grain size: 500x800x1500 mm
Outlet grain size: 150/200 mm - PICKWHEEL BREAKER – Used for medium hardness and abrasive ores
Crushed ores hardness: 1000 bars
Product: Coal, phosphate, lignite salt, slag, bauxite,
sandstone, shale uranium…
Inlet grain size: 600x800x1500 mm
Outlet grain size: 150/200 mm - HAMMER BREAKER – Used for hard but low abrasive ores
Crushed ores hardness: 2500 bars
Product: Pyrite copper of limestone, coal, phosphate,
lignite salt, slag, bauxite, sandstone, shale uranium…
Inlet grain size: 600x800x1500 mm
Outlet grain size: 150/200 mm
Customization of breaker
In addition, the operation and profitability of handling equipment placed downstream in mines has been particularly modernized:
- Possibility of using a narrower strap.
- Extension of the service life of belts and rollers.
- Reduced power and sizing of secondary breakers.
Finally, to overcome large-scale extractions, LA STEPHANOISE to develop a process allowing two crusher to be mounted in series on the same armored transporter. The first performs pre-crushing and the second provides the desired particle size.
